5 Best National Parks to Hike In the USA

The USA has so many different kinds of landscapes and national parks for people to visit, giving us so many places and trails to explore. From tropical rainforests to snowy mountaintops — we have it all.

Make sure you don’t miss out on these national parks in 2021 across the country. Don’t forget to take your trusty ultralight backs with you!

Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

The Grand Canyon is probably the most celebrated and mainstream location for hikers that want a challenge. While there are plenty of other activities to choose from, the Grand Canyon is best known for the advanced level of stamina and skill, since so much of it has been preserved in its natural state.

Government sites also recommend not trying to hike to the river from the rim and be back during daylight hours as well, since the terrain is so rough. However, there are still plenty of routes that will give you a measure of the area.

Acadia National Park, ME

This park in Maine has more than 150 miles of trails that are lined with the coast, forests and even steep mountain tops. The trails in Acadia are complex and winding at times, especially since the mountain heights and sea level ground are extremely far apart.

We recommend warming up a little by taking some of the beginner trails first and only starting a hike on the complex ones if you’re a real pro.

Glacier National Park, MT

The Glacier National Park is a great way to discover the Columbia mountains, especially since the trails were built to create accessibility to the glaciers and the mountain summits. This is one park where you can marvel at the wonders of ice and snow.

However, we definitely recommend going there with equipment suitable for the snowy terrain and not pushing yourself too much if you don’t have experience with ice.

Shenandoah National Park, VA

Shenandoah National Park is where you should go to escape the crowd without venturing into terrain that’s hard to keep up with. Highlights here are the majestic forests and waterfalls that little the park.

This backcountry national park features rocky summits, vistas and streams and allows hikers to relax as they get into the rhythm of the moderately difficult hikes.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, HI

As intimidating as this sounds, the Volcanoes National Park is actually visited by tons of tourists every year! In fact, as of the 20th of December 2020, there’s a new lava lake that has emerged in the Kilauea Volcano summit which is a must-see.

The forestry of the trails descends into black lava stone and is one of the most rapid transitions between scenery you’ll see anywhere.
