Hikes in Los Angeles All Adventure-Seekers Will Love

Who said Los Angeles is only for those who want to make it in Hollywood? The city welcomes all dreamers and adventurers, regardless of what that may entail!

For instance, it’s full of gorgeous landscapes that are waiting to be explored. So if you’re planning a hiking trip, LA is one of the best cities for one.

With that in mind, here’s a list of our favorite hiking spots in the City of Angels:

Elysian Park Hiking Trail

One of the best things about the Elysian Park Hiking Trail is that it’s been divided into different pathways—different trails for different types of people.

So if you’re a beginner and have only recently started hiking, you can choose a trail that fits your needs. And if you love strenuous hikes, you have plenty of trails to choose from too.

The incredible views from different paths add to the beauty of the park. The best thing is that if you have kids, you can choose an easy trail and get them into hiking as well!

Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park

This park is great for families that want to go for hikes or a picnic. The trails are also easy to hike, making them great for kids.

If your kids don’t want to go on a hike, the park also offers horse riding, as well as a cycling trail. Another great thing about this park is that it’s dog-friendly; so if you have a dog, you can bring it along!

Hollywood Sign (The Canyon Drive Trail)

Hollywood Sign (The Canyon Drive Trail)

If you’ve always wanted to get a fantastic view of the Hollywood sign, here’s your chance. You can either go hiking on the trail here, or go for a picnic.

If you choose to hike, you’ll get a splendid view of the city, and see the famous Hollywood sign. There’s also a zoo nearby that you can visit with the kids.

The only drawback is that there aren’t any bathrooms. But the trail itself is amazing and definitely worth hiking on!

Preparing For Your Hike

Make sure you have plenty of water and snacks with you when going on your hiking adventure. It’s best to keep a water bottle, a compass, and an emergency kit. Invest in good sport shoes as well, to ensure that your hike goes smoothly.

But more than that, make sure to invest in a comfortable backpack that won’t weigh you down.
